Servis asansörü ( monşarj ) nedir?
Monşarj, dilimize Fransızcadan “monte-charge” kelimesinden devşirilmiş ; anlamı servis asansörüdür. Servis asansörleri mutfaklarda, restoranlarda yiyecek getirmek ve kirli bulaşıkları geri götürmek için kullanılan küçük bir asansör (çoğunlukla bel yüksekliğinde, tezgah hizasındadır.) – hemen hemen her otel, kafe ve restoranda gizli ve vazgeçilmez bir üründür. Bu zor aşınan küçük servis asansörleri katlar arasında insanları değil malzemeleri taşımak için tasarlanmıştır.
Servis asansörü geçmişi
Bu kaldırma cihazı binlerce yıldır kullanılmaktadır. Kaydedilen ilk kullanım, Romalılar çağında yaklaşık MÖ 200 yılına kadar uzanıyor. Bir mimar, malların hareketine izin vermek için bir servis asansörü kurmayı tarif etmiştir
Neden buna servis asansörü deniyor?
Görevli veya hizmetliler tarafından servis asansörü kullanılarak yemek ve yemekleri üst kattaki yemek odasına götürür ve mutfaktan restorana giderken tekrar aşağı iner, böylece gürültü ve yemek kokusunun müşterilerden izole edilmesini sağlardı. Terimin kökenleri, basitçe bu asansörün kendi sessiz garsonunuza sahip olmanın bir yolu olması, görülmemesi ve duyulmamasıdır.
